Most of what you used to need a different tab for, now lives next to your files.
Paste an image. The AI looks at it.
Drag a screenshot, paste from the clipboard, or click the paperclip. Images route to Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, or a vision-capable Ollama model with the right format for each. Token-cost preview before you send, so the surprise stays out of your bill.
Drop in a PDF and ask about it.
Claude and Claude Opus get the native PDF, full layout and figures included. Other providers get the text via PDF.js with a "text extracted" chip so you know which mode you're in. Flip on workspace indexing and every PDF you keep becomes searchable AI context, embeddings via fastembed-rs, all on your machine.
Have it read aloud.
Click "Read aloud" on any AI message. A bundled Piper sidecar synthesizes speech locally, no audio leaves the machine. Useful when I'm pacing the kitchen and don't want to read 800 words off a screen.
Plugins, sandboxed and signed off by you.
A real plugin runtime, sandboxed in a Web Worker, with a manifest-declared permission model. Four plugins ship in the day-one marketplace: Word Counter, Translator, Pomodoro, and Mermaid Preview. If you'd rather write your own, the developer docs, the create-keepance-plugin scaffolder, and the typed @keepance/plugin-api package are already live.
Templates from the community.
The 15 founder templates baked into the app stay where they are. On top, Settings -> Marketplace -> Templates browses, installs, and updates community ones. Catalog at github.com/keepance/community-templates, six day-one entries, GitHub Action rebuilds the catalog on PR merge.

The whole UI is translated, 421 strings across every dialog and setting. Pick the language in Settings -> General, or let Keepance auto-detect from your OS locale on first launch. Manually-edited strings get a lock so re-translation passes don't overwrite them.
