Client discovery stays confidential.
Your AI workflow doesn't have to slow down.
Keepance is a local-first AI workspace. Your client files stay in a folder on your hard drive. Your API key talks directly to the model provider. Nothing routes through a third-party server, because there's no third-party server in the loop.
Includes the full Consulting Practice pack: 5 templates built for client work. One-time price, no subscription.
Client engagement letters are getting explicit AI clauses. Keepance sidesteps them entirely.
Consulting engagement agreements increasingly include language that restricts what client work can be fed into cloud tools. When you paste a discovery memo or stakeholder interview into ChatGPT, that content moves to OpenAI's servers. It gets logged. It travels under their privacy terms.
Keepance is different because there's no server to route through. Your client files sit in a folder on your hard drive. The AI request goes from your machine directly to the model provider you choose. Keepance is never in the middle. Your client data never touches our infrastructure.
- No data leaves your machine through Keepance — none
- The NDA clause question never comes up
- Works offline for all editing; AI calls go direct to your chosen provider
Discovery notes, stakeholder interviews, and research memos — synthesized in minutes.
Drop your raw discovery call notes into a workspace folder. Run the Client Discovery Synthesizer template. Get a structured client brief with key insights, stakeholder landscape, and engagement scope — all saved as Markdown files you own. No upload required, no account required.
- Five purpose-built templates included in the Consulting Practice pack
- Every output saves as a plain Markdown file in your workspace folder
- Bring Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini with your own API key
- Every AI action logged with timestamp, model, and token count
$129 once. Notion AI charges $240 a year. Claude Team charges $240 a year.
Most AI tools bill monthly and hold your data as the implicit justification. Keepance is a perpetual license. One payment. Your files stay on your machine. Your API key goes directly to the provider you pay directly. Keepance never sees your prompts and never charges you for inference.
- Perpetual license — one payment, no renewal
- No per-query fees from Keepance — you pay your AI provider directly
- Plain Markdown files remain readable forever without the app
- Nobody can raise your rate or cut off your access
Three things that matter if you run confidential client work through an AI tool.
These aren't hypothetical concerns. Engagement agreements, data ownership, and subscription economics all shift when you move to local-first.
NDA clause risk is real and getting worse
Many client contracts now explicitly prohibit uploading work product to AI services without written consent. The language showed up in boilerplate across professional services agreements starting in 2024 and it's accelerating. Uploading a client strategy memo or discovery call notes to ChatGPT potentially violates those clauses — even if the client hasn't brought it up yet. Local-first means the question never has to come up. The data doesn't leave your machine through Keepance, so there's nothing to disclose.
BYOK means the data relationship is yours
When you supply your own API key, your prompts go from your machine directly to Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google. Keepance is not in the request path. The only entity that sees your client content, besides you, is the model provider you chose and pay directly. Their data handling terms apply — and only to your direct relationship with them. Keepance never sees your prompts, your client names, or your work product. There's no Keepance server that could.
Perpetual license vs. a subscription you never own
Subscription AI tools hold your documents on their servers and charge you to access them every month. If you cancel, you lose the AI layer. If they raise prices, you pay or leave your data behind. Keepance is a perpetual license. Pay once. Your files are plain Markdown in a folder you control. The app doesn't phone home to check your subscription status. If you stop using it tomorrow, your documents are exactly where you left them, readable in any text editor, forever.
Five templates built for consulting work.
Each one runs locally, asks the right questions upfront, and produces a real document in your workspace. Nothing leaves your machine through Keepance — not the inputs, not the outputs.
Client Discovery Synthesizer
Takes notes from client discovery calls, interview recordings, or preliminary research and synthesizes them into a structured client brief with key insights, stakeholder landscape, and engagement scope. Handles messy, unstructured raw notes — the kind you actually take during calls.
Confidential Research Memo
Turns your research findings into a client-ready memo. Formats citations, handles NDA-restricted sources, and produces a polished document you can drop directly into your deliverables folder or share with the client. No upload to format it, no cloud service to distribute it.
Stakeholder Map Generator
Maps client stakeholders by role, stance, influence level, and risk. Produces a matrix and narrative summary that helps you navigate internal politics and structure your communication strategy before your next client touchpoint.
NDA-Safe Slide Outliner
Drafts a presentation outline that respects explicit NDA restrictions. Takes your client's stated disclosure limits as input and produces slides that tell the story without crossing lines. Useful when a deliverable needs to be seen by a wider audience than the original materials allow.
Engagement Retrospective Builder
After you wrap a project, this template structures a post-engagement retrospective. What went well, what didn't, what you'd change next time. Runs the reflection process, stores the output locally, keeps the client details confidential. Useful for pattern recognition across engagements.
The Consulting Practice pack is included in the Professional tier ($129 one-time). No subscription. The templates are yours once you purchase.
One price. Yours to keep.
No subscription. No monthly seat fee. No access cut off when you stop paying. You buy it, you own it.

A note on NDA and compliance claims
The NDA language and consulting agreement references on this page are illustrative, not legal advice. Keepance's local-first architecture reduces your exposure to AI-related data handling questions, but it doesn't replace your own review of your specific client agreements. If you have contracts with explicit AI disclosure requirements, read them or have counsel read them before putting any client work through any AI tool, including Keepance.
What "local-first" actually means here
When you use Keepance, your documents and API key stay on your machine. Your prompts go directly to Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google — Keepance never sees them, never stores them, never routes them through a Keepance server. If that's still a concern for a particular client, Keepance supports local models via Ollama, which is fully offline with no external calls at all.
